Well, The M1i design is still in the works. Seems like it's taking
forever, but, no. Good designs like good knives take time to make, test
etc. When done they can last for centuries.
This particular design is actually a combination of stuff that I have
wanted for a long time, and since it's not laser cut etc. just the
shape is very
time consuming.
I like a double guard on a knife for lots of reasons. I also like
lots of attachment points, because if you fail to take your 26
foot U-haul truck with you to the outback. you might need to use your
knife for lots more than just cutting.
I know, lots of knife ghurus, say that multi purpose , survival
type knives with teeth on top, and hooks and holes are at best,
masters of none. But again, when you must travel
light,, into uncharted territory, like battlefields, urban jungles,
mountain trails etc, it just seems like good common sense to be as
equipped as possible.
While developing the M1i it
has come to light, that at least some prempting is required, so
I am working on different configurations for different supposed
circumstances.
Since these are all individually handmade, when complete, you will have
quite a few choices of options to fit your particular needs. For
instance, top serrations are handy, and can be configured to saw wood,
cut rope, cut wire, cut metal and on and on.
They can also be omitted for those that don't like them.

West Point ....In the Morning
 Ian likes the high ground, best vantage point for sound Tactic's
 ' Here are some sun rise shots this morning from my favorite view point here at the
Academy. It is from a redoubt (small fort site) built during the Revolutionary
war. It looks down onto the main part of the Academy.
In his off hours he's busy testing and reporting on Relentless Knives.
Why? We are Committed to Excellence! You won't find

.......well it's a slow process to say the least.
But, well worth the time, as they are made to last a lifetime, and endure.

Ian's wife has been drafted into the test and review service.
The Capt. designed a knife that fits her hand very well, and I made it.
It's just big enough to be very useful, can be carried as a
pocket or neck knife , and has a few custom touches like mosaic
pins and exotic wood handles. It also has the West Point Crest

 Extreme Testing produces Extreme Durability and a better knife for you.
Don't try this with your knife, intentional destruction will void your lifetime replacement warranty.
But, we do it all the time in order to see just how
much abuse our knives will withstand.
Ian figures no amount of abuse is to much, so
a bit of rifle fire produced some interesting results on a knife that withstood bending to almost 90 degrees
and returned to straight with no deformity
The 7.62 x 39 Bullet had more devastating effects
on this particular knife, but was not so bad on another tested.

A small crack , but not bad for such abuse..
Please don't try this at home, as gun fire will be considered extreme

Ian doesn't seem to care....he is more concerned that American Soldiers

To Kill an American
You probably
missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a
report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer
of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So
an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let
everyone know what an American is so they would know when they found
one. (Good one, mate!!!!)
An American is English, or French,
or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An
American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or
Afghan.
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage,
Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes
known as Native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could
be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in
America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America
they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American is
also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to
God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the
government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous
land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be
found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God
given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An
American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other
nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in
return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20
years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people
to win back their country! As of the morning of September 11, Americans
had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan.
Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services.
But they also welcome the least.
The
national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your
tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the
homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built
America .
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the
morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families.
It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least
30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those
that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an
American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and
Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in
doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not
a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of
the human spirit of freedom.
